I made a commitment this week to do this post early instead of waiting to the last minute. I am doing it a day later than I planned but since it is a rainy day at the beach that is ok. (Written last Friday). Once again, my procrastination stemmed from the need to make a decision of what to write about. One of my favorite quotes comes from a song by the band, Rush ~ the song is Freewill, the quote is, “If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.” You can listen to it here ~ https://open.spotify.com/track/3EZ26HEww0Tr94HSL10Wsf?si=xwUIUXw9TzSBr2TJ1Uivew
We may choose not to decide for many reasons, fear of making the wrong decision may even paralyze us at times. In the Rush song it goes on to say, “I will choose a path that’s clear, I will choose Freewill“. Wow, think about that, is our path clear because we have freewill? Yoga can assist us to clear paths, live in the present moment, improve self confidence and remove fear. We practice yoga over & over knowing it will never be “perfect”. In doing so, the desire to be “perfect“ will fade and fear of making a wrong decision diminishes. We accept that we will make mistakes and that it is ok. I often describe myself as a “recovering perfectionist“, Yoga has helped me to embrace the process of trying over and over without judgement.
Please join me this week to practice being a human being and deciding to live life without fear.
