This morning, as I sought inspiration and confidence to proceed with being vulnerable in front of a screen on FaceBook live, I came to my mat, my hands went to my lap and instinctively found Bhairava Mudra. As I sat in meditation my mind began to shift and focus. Afterwards any apprehension I had about going live on Facebook to lead my Movement and Meditation Class had faded,

Per Alison Denicola in Mudras For Awakening the Energy Body, Bhairava Mudra: "Assists: Unity, Freedom, Liberation... Benefits: all systems of the body. Supports inner stillness and courage, Releases Fear."

Right now Releasing Fear and promoting togetherness sounds pretty good to me!

To perform Bhairava Mudra, sit comfortably with the spine elongated, rest the left hand in the lap facing up, lay the right over the left palm up. Allow the thumbs to tough. Relax the shoulders.

Yogapedia explains Bhairava Mudra~

" Bhairava mudra is considered a natural gesture that brings harmony to the body’s energy flow during meditation and pranayama practice. When the hand positions are reversed (where the left hand is positioned on top of the right hand), it is believed to activate consciousness and manifestation."
